Q：How do you feel to come to Taiwan again?
A：I am very happy to come to Taiwan again. I had promised a concert in Taiwan on the Fan Meeting in March, and I am very excited to fulfill my words so soon. However, I probably have been too excited and nervous, so I couldn’t sleep well last night. (laugh)
Q：Is there any food you would like to eat or anywhere you would like to visit?
A：That…..(trying hard to think), that……(asking staffs, trying hard to remember the correct Chinese name), that…Ha…”Shiau Lung Bau.” (in Chinese) That’s it, I want to eat ”Shiau Lung Bau.”(steamed dumpling) (shows a relief smile)
Where I want to visit? There…..(trying hard to think again), there……(this time everyone starts laughing). The beautiful place appeared in “On Air”, it’s Hua Lian. I would like to go for hot spring as well, since I have heard there are very good hot springs in Taiwan.
A throbbing feeling for Lover toward Taiwan fans
Q：Do you have any special feeling for Taiwan fans, since you have been to so many countries for promotions or performances?
A：There is no huge difference after performing in so many places and contacting all fans from different countries. Although I haven’t come to Taiwan for a long time, I still feel very familiar to Taiwan fans. But maybe it has been too long; I have a throbbing feeling toward Taiwan fans. How should I describe this feeling? (He tilts his head and thinks for a while.) It’s like my heart throbs nervously before meeting girlfriend. The throbbing mood when lovers finally met.
Q：Do you have any special expectation for your first concert in Taiwan?
A：I hope fans can enjoy my performance from the beginning to the end. I hope fans can get to know more about singer “SHIN HYE SUNG” through this concert. Of course, I also learn some Taiwanese and hopefully it’s useful later on. I also make some small adjustment for Taiwan concert, please look forward to it. (After saying this, he looks shy and sticks his tongue out.)

(At the beginning of the interview, Hyesung seems to be a little bit nervous, so he
keeps holding both of his hands and looks seriously. After a while, he looks more
relaxed and starts to show more emotions and hand signs. When he answers
questions, he sometimes holds his right knee with both hands or sometime he slightly
swings his body. We want to get even closer to Hyesung, when he becomes at ease.)
It is unavoidable to miss my “Shinhwa family” when I am
performing alone
Q：You are member of Shinhwa and S group, and now you are also doing your solo activity. Can you share with us the meaning of the three different identities to you?
A：To be honest, the three different identities are all very special and important to me. SHINHWA members are family for me. We are so familiar to each other; we are so close that we are just family with strong relationship. S group is “friendship”, the activity with two of my best friends; it is a complete different feeling for me.
The solo activity, I think it is a must. Even though at the beginning I felt nervous and lonely to perform without members, I am more used to it now. Of course, there is time when I feel nervous to perform alone, and I would miss members especially then. (laugh)
Q：How do you feel about your good friend Kangta and Shinhaw members one after another to serve in the armed forces? Do you miss someone specially?

A：(Hyesung laughs after hearing this question.) Eric and Dongwan went for the army service after Kangta. I think it is all right not to see them so often since I used to see them so frequently! HaHaHaHa~We still go out and have a drink together when they are on holidays. So I don’t have to miss them while we are apart! HaHaHaHa~
Making more efforts on music as a singer
Q：You have tried different kind of music on your third album side I “Live and Let Live”. What kind of music you would like to challenge next time?
A：”Live and Let Live” is different from the ballad music that I used to do. I tried to take this chance to show others different perspectives of SHIN HYE SUNG music. To be honest, I never set to challenge certain type of music, but I will continue to make more efforts to bring good music to everyone.
Q：We not only see your achievement on music, but also your outstanding performance on entertainment program. Do you consider any acting on TV series or movie in the future? Or any other different challenge?
A：You don’t have much chance to see me on entertainment program. (Hyesung is shy and laughing while speaking this.) Everyone asks me this question. I feel that I am best at singing, so I want to concentrate to be a singer, to make best efforts as a singer. I will make a lot of effort at singing.
Forget to eat pork before this concert
Q：We are very curious that does “Ballad Prince” have any special habit before recording? Or any special tips to take care of your throat?
A：Special habit? I don’t know if this counts, (touching belly) I don’t like to go recording when I am full. I don’t feel comfortable to sing when I am full. So I usually eat after I finish recording.

Maybe it has something to do with my character, I don’t like to have break during my recording. Unless I am really too tired, then I might have a little break. Otherwise I always complete my recording at one fling. (laugh)
I don’t have any special tips, the only way is to eat and sleep well in order to keep body fit. I usually eat some pork before concert, because I heard pork is good for throat. (Hyesung starts laughing while speaking of pork.) I just said about eating pork before concert, but I didn’t do it this time. HaHa~ I finished rehearse too late last night.
First time for pastry, but beaten up by cakes
Q：The cakes you made at the 314 Taiwan FM, looks really as you emphasize “taste is more important than appearance”. Have you ever tried to make cakes after that?
A：I use to think seriously that “taste is more important than appearance”, but after I went back to Korea everyone told me that “taste is as important as appearance”. HaHa~(looks shy and starts laughing) So I give up making cakes, I think I can’t handle it since there are lots of small details to take care of. (showing a hasty and disorderly manner with his hands)

Q：You seem to be good at cooking as we have seen on entertainment program. What kind of dish you are best at? Can you recommend the best Korean food for Taiwan fans to try?
A：The saying of being good at cooking is spread by myself! HaHaHaHa~ (Hyesung laughs with his eyes curving up) But I really love cooking, of course I can not make beautiful and tasty dishes as from food magazines. I just cook the food with the way I like. My dish is supposed to be good for health, since I usually add everything inside. I feel that I am quite good at cooking. HaHa~ (trying hard to show how he cooks.)
I think I will recommend Korean BBQ to Taiwan fans! It is delicious and not too spicy. You can also mix rice with the juice from BBQ, it is really tasty. (pretending to hold spoon with right hand, and show the way to mix rice)
I hope I am still a popular singer ten years later.
Q：You made your first debut ten years ago. Have you achieved the target you set ten years ago? Have you ever imagined that how you will be ten years later?
A：Not yet. I think I haven’t achieved my target yet. Maybe I am a popular singer now, but one’s target always gets higher and higher. I don’t feel much difference now compare to ten years ago, I still need to make more efforts and more improvement. Of course, I had thought ten years ago that I would have married by 30th and have been a dad with a cute little kid. (laugh) But obviously, this goal has not been carried out yet, so I should keep working on it.
Thinking about ten years later? (laugh) I hope I have a sweet and warm family and still can not live without music. Of course, I wish I am still a popular singer ten years later! So I should make more efforts now in order to fulfill my dream.
Q：Will you make public when you have girlfriend? Where will you go dating with girlfriend?
A：If I have a girlfriend now, I think I will be willing to make public. However, I can not make this decision on my own; I will have to respect her wish as well.
Dating places? It should be somewhere special, such as delicious food and cup of tea at beautiful café next to Han River, such as a movie, beefsteak for dinner (show a very cute pose to cut the beef steak) and a glass of wine! I think it should be lovely. (laugh)
Ballad Prince is not only good at singing ballad, his tender voice and friendly
attitude has charmed us all. Although we crave for more, the lovely chat
between TRENDY and Prince Hyesung still has come to the end due to the limitation
of time.
